Newell Gurus

Hello All, my wife and I just purchased a 72 Newell Coach with  391 FT and Allison MT40 6 speed. Block is busted but turns over. We have lots of work to do and looking forward to all the adventures this RV will take us. I'll post some pics and more questions for all you 70's model gurus, especially some suggestions on what drivetrain I should convert to or rebuild the existing 391!

Before I would attempt to give you advice there are a lot of questions that I would need the answers to. First one would be what is your end goal? Are you fixing to sell or do you plan on keeping the coach forever? Are you planning on doing most of the work yourselves or will the coach be going into a shop for the work?

I used to own a 1973 33' Newell pusher that had a Cat 1160 so I'm familiar with Newell coaches from that era.
