That makes a lot of sense. If only I still had all those old supplies I used to have on the farm.
Another way,
I drilled two 1/4" holes in the engine cover opposite the latch hook. When the cable breaks I will insert
a 1/4" rod or drill bit in the hole and trip the latch. I inserted two plastic plugs and they are hard to notice
