Does anyone know what the gap should be between the ABS sensor and the toothed ring?

I am not sure what problem you are chasing but the abs sensor should be pushed all the way against the ring.  When the wheels turn they will push the sensor away from the ring leaving a very small gap. According the instructions a gap of 0.04” is allowable.
