Thanks for letting me be a member. Figured I should do some more research on here as I am looking at upgrading to a Newell.

Right now I have a 78 FC31 Wanderlodge and I am looking to upgrade to a 90s Newell or a LXI. Whatever unit I buy it has to have a DD60 and no slides.

I look forward to looking around.
Welcome aboard, many of us lurk on the WOG forum. Lot’s of similar systems.

Read the entire section on Used Newells. Lot’s of questions from prospective owners have already been addressed. The topics are collected there for folks just like you.
Welcome yeayea! I’m thinking DD60 with no slides may be somewhat rare. Maybe Michael could determine just how many were made.
Right now I know of 4 listed for sale that are DD60 and slideless, it’s the same number of lxi’s for sale. one lxi has a slide from marathon, and one lxi is in Canada.

I have spoken to 2 lxi owners and 2 newell owners.
Hope to look at an lx tomorrow and maybe see this newell when I’m back from my trip.

Loading my FC tonight.
Welcome! This is the best place to learn about the Newell coach systems and details! Hope you find the perfect coach for your needs.
Welcome! Almost 18 years ago, I too was looking at Newells and Blue Birds. My wife and I found a Newell that met our needs and we have never looked back even though ours does have the 8V92.
I missed the boat on a Millennium edition LXI. It was priced at 75k and was road ready. Missed it by a day! In the end, I have a 93 Newell with the 8v92 and absolutely love that engine. They were bulletproof in their day until the EPA decided it wasn't good enough for them. Now it gets breezed through Emissions where I live since they do not want to do a snap test on 2 strokes.
Go buy this one and enjoy it. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/rvs/d...41463.html

I think he has it listed in the classifieds on here as well
I don't have the engine type and number of slides on coach in every year but from my data it appears that the universe is approximately 78 built. The Detroit Series 60 ran from a few in 1994 until a few in 2005. However after 1996 most had slides. #507, a 1999 was the last motorhome Newell built with a rear bedroom a Series 60 and no slides.

1999 1 remainder had slides
1998 5 remainder had slides
1997 6 remainder had slides
1996 35, 1 (#436 was the first Newell with a slide)
1995 24, other 4 had 8V92's
1994 7, others had 8V92's
By the sound of it, I might have to act fast if I find what I want
