Thought of Star Trek: More power Scotty (Rhonda). I'm giving it all she got captain!

Did Scotty use dilethium crystals? I'm not a Trekky by any means but I seem to remember this.

Glad to see you're on the road again without much or any delay.
I had a mental image of Richard rigging up a boat throttle and attaching it on the left armrest. He also had a captains hat!

So don't laugh. It came to me that I had a heavy duty potentiometer on board. I think Incould have robbed the windshield wiper knob and used the adjustable part of the function to rig a potentiometer to get the coach to safety .
I don't gamble but would have put money down that you could have come up with something before sitting on the side of the road very long. Mr MacGyver.
Maybe something rigged with a coat hanger, oven mitts, and Luma-connectors. It could operate similar to those slide whistles we had as kids (like a trombone).
I know Richard likes those connectors...

Make sure you get the kit and not just the sensor. Why? It appears to me that the sensors have standardized on a five pin setup, meaning it has an idle validation circuit. However, the DDEC III at least requires a three pin setup. The cable that comes with the kit adapts the five pin sensor to the three wire Packard connector.

Thanks for posting Richard. I am going to go ahead and get one as a spare. 

Reminds me I also need to get an SRS and TRS to carry along.
If you have a Series 60 I highly recommend carrying a spare SRS and TRS. I will try to get a photo of them to show where they are located on the engine. So both sensors are required to allow the engine to start, then it will run on only one sensor. So if you are have an issue where the engine turns over but will not start, these what I would try first.
Best thing is to look them up by your engine serial number. I will see about looking mine up and I will let you know the part numbers.

I forget what it’s called but I don’t think it’s Hall effect. They produce more of a signal like a sine wave.
Just remembered, I think they are reluctance sensors.
