We just purchased a 2002 Newell and the step controller is working intermittently.  Does anyone know if this Kwikee step controller can be replaced with the controller 909510000?  I am getting a $400+ price online for the replacement part number 379606.
Make sure it isnt the switch in the door frame before replacing the controller
richard, on the bode door setup there is no switch in the door frame.

it is a combination of microswitches activated by the cam on the door and a relay in the bay next to the door. i have had the relay come loose and cause what is being described here.

My bad, I have the old fashioned door
I just replaced the motor, gear box, and controller in our coach for less than $200.
Here are two manuals or documents I used to troubleshoot the mechanism.
Previously my step wouldn't come in and I reseated the relays in the storage bay immediately to the front of the door. That worked for a while.
*important note about the motor hardware: The screws supplied with the motor are longer than they need to be. One will interfere with the gear and prohibit the step from moving only a few inches. I put a flat and a lock washer on that screw to gain clearance and the step works as it should.
