Anyone know where I can quickly source tie rods for a 1999 -478? The shop says I need them (no boots and are loose) before wasting money aligning… this trip is getting expensive.

Super Steer should have them.  Here is what they list for Dana IFS 84.  Awesome people to work with and you can give them a call to make sure you're getting what you need.

Brad is that link direct to the parts I would need? I can call them in the morning. Have called Newell and they are looking but theirs includes the whole bar.

That is what pulled up when I put in Dana IFS 84, but if I were you I’d call them.  Don’t have my binder at home with invoices or I could tell you 100%.
I called SuperSteerParts and they did not have the parts in stock. I had earlier called the Mother Ship and they took a while but found the parts needed (the whole tie rod with ends) for both sides. $375 each plus shipping of about $35 OVERNIGHT to SouthEast Texas… great deal and expect them in the morning. Have an appt at Southern Tire Mart to have them mounted and then an alignment done! Now I just have to figure out what that bent rod is - I think it is some kind of steering stabilizer… has something to do with the way the wheel returns after a turn… will post another thread about that (after a search)…
Are there any tips I should inform the installer of the new tie rods in the morning?  I want to get them in there correctly and know you guys have the wisdom to help!!! TIA
