Hi,
I have a 2008 (1247) with the small round Hella headlights which are really dim at night. Has anyone upgraded theirs? Any idea what the bulb types are? Looking to see if there is a good LED bulb. They are so dim, I drive with the high beams on and no one even notices....
I saw a lot of information on the rectangular headlights, but haven't seen anything on the small round ones.
Our 2015, and most of the ones I've seen are the 90mm Hellas. I've replaced one of mine after a rock hit.
They're really bright, so I'm guessing your's may not be the same version as our's, which is Halogen.
This is the high-beam model we have, which was $50:

Our low-beams, are Xenon or HID, I believe, since they take a couple seconds to come up to full brightness. You could easily swap to those for a marked improvement.

This is my OPINION.
One if the headlights are truly dim, you likely have a voltage problem at the lights. It’s common in RVs, even Newells. Some good reading here.

Second, please do not retrofit the existing housings with LED bulbs or worse HID retrofit kits. As a guy who made his living in the fancy optics business, I cannot stand the GLARE clowns that do this.
If you can upgrade to LED assemblies, and Hella makes them, it may solve your problem without adding relays since LED lights are not terribly voltage dependent like Halogen.

Yeah, Richard makes a good point about the retrofits in the wrong housing!!! Not good for anyone...and they don't work either. (ask me how I found out...not on a Newell though)
I'm surprised no one has screamed about searching (and I won't). Our coaches once sat alongside each other on the assembly line (we have 1244) and I had my light assemblies upgraded when I was a newell and posted about it here:

Let me know if you need the part numbers and I will see if I can dig them up. One of the assemblies is smaller that the original but they just wrapped weatherstripping around it to keep water and debris out and all is good.

Thank you so much for all the help! After some digging around, I ended up going with some Morimoto LED headlights. They have worked great for me in the past and have hope these will be just as good. Each light has a low beam and a high beam, so you can operate all four at once. It was a little tricky to get them adjusted perfectly, but they do a great job of providing great lighting without blinding the oncoming traffic.
