I would think that burns less fuel than generator
I suppose it's really the factoring of the cost of how you get it done.. In the perfect world it takes about .4 HP for the alternator to produce the 10 amps required by the inverters.. However it probably is a bit more because of loss and the efficiency of the system.. Then you need to factor in the cost of maintaining the alternator inverters batteries etc.. or the jenny.. it boils down to whatever works.. works... My only thought was when I had two blown inverters that I took for repair.. I was told that the a/c was hard on the system because the startup drew such high amps and caused the failure.. so I pulled them out of the inverter circuit and used the jenny..
