This winter I plan to replace all of the halogen bulbs with leds. I think they are G4 bases?
We like the cool white. I also want to keep the light output about the same as the halogens.
I have about 60 to replace so will plan to buy 70 in case a few are bad.
What are the differences between the type 5050, etc. Is it just more light output?
Any other suggestions?
I also want to replace the little spotlights which will take a different type of led. Any suggestions on these?
Thanks!
forest, didnt i give you some to try?

i use 5050's and i think i did 12 led's and i used cool white. i paid under 2 bucks apiece on ebay for them.

5050 is a bigger led than the 3528. here is an interesting look at the differences.

i tried 4 or 5 different ones. 3528 and 5050. and different amount of leds.

i would have liked having the 15 led in 5050, but the diameter of the disc was too big.

Yes you did. I just need to find where I put them Smile
I do have a 9 chip one and used my camera to check the light output and they are about the same as the halogen.
I got this guy on ebay down to .75 each with 3.00 shipping (from the US).
Don't know which led they are.

those are 5050 led's. the 3528's are much smaller.

Forest,
How did the LED bulb replacement go?
Went well. I just have a few I couldn't get my big hands in to replace them. The sconce fixtures in the front and the tube lights in the bathroom. Pleased with the leds.
