I thought about this, my main concern was heating up the plate too much. Tig welding may work if you can control the heat. I was thinking about filling the bag with water while welding. I decided on the drive bag it was not worth the effort but I did modify my front bags. I ended up just drilling a larger hole and tapping it, it has worked just fine, the front bags have a 3/4” hole in them.

The 3/4 inlet and the 45degree 1 inch to 3/4 reducer works just fine. Spendy if you buy them at parker stores. But can be sourced pretty cheap on Amazon or ebay.

I have been using these guys for all my hydraulic lines, fittings etc and Wanderlodge used hydraulic lines for everything, fuel lines coolant lines air lines etc. These guys make premade lines with ends on them and the prices are very reasonable and the ship quickly!
