You don't happen to be related to Carl Bensley do you?  He is in that area.  We are probably 30 minutes or so from there.

Nice work, looks like its coming along. Reminds me of my MCI project I started my motorhome journey with.

That B series Cummins will be perfect !! I have one in a RAM 2500 that dyno ed at 497 hp and 1200 ft/lb of torque.

Keep the pictures coming this is going to be a great build. I've never owned a triple nickel but read about them this is a far better option.

RE: Vintage project - HoosierDaddy - 07-12-2024

Triple nickel don’t get much respect among real truckers. They were used extensively in farm and construction equipment. My ‘78 Newell had one. It was very reliable and would run all day at 80 mph on the flat but struggled on long grades. It sounded great…. Kinda like a big block mopar with headers!!! If I planned on keeping the Newell I would have considered a newer diesel engine though.

I probably am if he is from Owego. He may be a cousin's kid who I haven't met yet.
There is another Bensley family group in Binghamton, NY. They aren't related directly to us up through my grandparents but are probably a few generations above that somehow.
