If those are your measurements, leave it alone.

Especially if you are having an alignment done. Any changes made to ride height after alignment will change the alignment.

If you feel you must make changes to ride height, do it before alignment.

I would ensure the labeling on the wires is correct now. I have CRS, and something that was so clear today, is total amnesia tomorrow.

Glad it is back in order.

Print the manual I linked above. I know it says Prevost but it’s the closest thing I have found to the coaches you and I have. Also print this one. https://www.hwhcorp.com/ml20635.pdf

Take the time to read them and reinforce what you learned during the troubleshooting.

As Adam said, the Newell air system fundamentals are different than what most RV techs, and diesel mechanics ever see. It’s best the owner knows the system. I have had RV techs disagree with me over the phone and actually rewire the system based on how they thought it should work. In one case I spent a day with the owner undoing what the tech did.

Had the coach aligned and every was great but… as soon as I drove around the building the driver side front and rear both dropped (was not able to measure but it was just above the tires). I pulled off and put the coach in full raise mode and waited for the supply pressure up to 110lbs. I then put the coach in drive and hobbled it to its parking spot - it was a very rough drive (like it used to be). I will be looking at the rear solenoids to see if they are all connected correctly and will get the voltages from each wire :-(

Are you sure you don't have intermittent leaking going on on your air bags?    There was a brand that had that occur due to the way the bags were connected to the end plates.

By your description it seems like everything was good, and then all of a sudden it was not.  I don't think the 6 pack moves air that quickly as you made it seem.  However burping of a rear bag might do what you are saying, and you could have intermittent leaking that drives the inconsistency you are describing.

But what do I know?

glen knows alot btw

he is right, the leveling valves have a 3/32 orfice so you are not changing height that fast. it goes to 6 bags in the rear. for the front there are 2 bags and it moves them much faster.

my two cents worth

Anybody got the supplier/part numbers for the air bags? I was thinking about changing them soon or at least have spares…

We got new engine batteries from batteries plus in Houston (4-hour drive this morning) and now all is well - alternator pumping out 14.1v and leveling system seems good so far; dumped and then raised to travel mode; we took the coach down the road and it seems like the pass side dropped slightly but when I stopped and turned off the engine it measures 12” all the way around.

Maybe look at this thread, it describes the intermittent behavior that it sounds like you have.

You will want to avoid the dropping while you are driving, I have heard it makes lots of smoke and melts the rear tires

Yep, I know that smoking sensation well - we had it happen a couple years ago to us and have the scars to prove it.

At the No Rally Rally campground in Bardstown, KY and noticed that when I dumped the coach all the down and then put it into ‘auto-level’ mode that it looked like the coach went all the way up and then settled down to level (and has stayed that way since we have the 110v air pump running… is this correct behavior? Seems like it would have self-leveled from the lowest position…

My 1992 raises the low end/side first, then drops any side/end that is still too high.
