I put my GEN 3 in a metal mount off Amazon with magnetic feet. I bonded 4 3 inch diameter washers to the roof with polyurethane.
I put washers at the front and the back of the coach to give me the flexibility to relocate the dish if parked under a tree. Obviously I left enough of the cable to permit relocating or even moving to the ground if needed.
BTW works just fine while in motion.

I use a Trio Gen 3 flatmount with adhesive/magnets. It sits right behind my front A/C where the old motion satellite was mounted. I removed both satellite dishes a few years back.

I did take the Mini off and am using the V2 dish. I drilled a small hole & unplugged the motion cable, cut the mount stem as short as I could leaving enough to slide in the mount which I drilled out to accommodate it. It is short and is lower than the A/C units.

we used a mini all summer last year with it on the dash of the superc we used. and on a tripod when still. worked great. i have a v3 at home and a v2 at our cabin. the mini was plenty fast. we traveled all the way to the artic ocean and the last 550 miles in the car following a buddy who had his mini on his roof of his jeep and we could get the signal in our honda behind him....ha
if i was going to permanently mount it to the roof i would likely do the full sized dish, but i am not sure it makes any difference. i use lots of bandwidth and the mini worked fine.
one curious thing was that in super congested areas ( in our case outside of anchorage alaska), it throttled it down about 2/3 of the time to 1-3m down on my roam plan. evidently anchorage area is the worst for that. the people whose off grid ranch we were staying at had a full sized permanent dish and it was full speed.

I'll have it in Quartzsite next week and will see how it does. I just checked speed on my cable internet, 29 down and 48 up, makes no sense.
Edit, VPN is the problem, working on that now.

Disconnected wifi VPN & using cable ethernet speed jumped to 600 Mbps. The router has VPN built in, perhaps it doesn't like the laptop VPN running at the same time. V2 will probably do better now.

Like Tom said the mini works great and is fast. With the big update last summer the mini works much better with obstructions. It's if you're in a congested area that you might be throttled. Anchorage was horrible. But when you look at how few satelites are in that area it's easy to see why. BTW up in the Arctic we would occasionally have outages because of the satelite spacing.
IMO the main difference between the mini and the standard size dish is the mini has the router built into the dish. That could be a problem with the aluminum cage like the Newell. The mini can utilize a separate router which would mean another separate network cable to run.

i bought the 40 dollar minii router and it will extend the range a ton. you can also use the router from the gen 2 (which i have a spare of) as a mesh router. it extends it even more.

Our starlink mini is mounted to the top of the solar panels and on line 24/7 we could not be happier with it underway or parked. When we are home I use a gen 1 starlink router which gets the wifi from the mini then sends to the wifi mesh though out the house. When we are gone I have a Verizon hot spot to keep an eye on the cameras and control things through out the house. Only a few times we lost a sat signal as it was not pointed in the right direction and a big storm passing through but it came back on when it passed.
