I never did get a firm answer from anyone about the proper place to put jack stands under the coach (don’t try Grok - it was not even close). I do have a picture from years ago when Richard was trying to help me figure out where to jack the coach REAR but not the front. I have updated that REAR picture to show the correct (I think) jacking locations for a 1998 Newell… YMMV… I plan to mark each jacking locations with ORANGE paint so shops, and myself when I eventually forget, the jacking locations.

The spot you circled is where I put my jack stands, should be the connection location where the trailing arm for the drive axle is attached. This goes up directly to the frame. That is what you are looking for a point that directs the force directly to the frame and the steel needs to be substantial or you are going to bend or break something. I do not generally do alot of jacking of my coach, I use the air suspension or drive up on ramps to get the coach raised, this is the quickest method instead of sliding under and using a jack to pick up the coach. This method also keeps you from racking the coach by accidentally jacking one side up more than the other etc. Eventually I will have wheel lifts to pick up coaches, but that is down the road for me.

Thank you JEFF! What about the front? This is from Newell but I have no idea whether it is correct… “ In the front there is a metal plate that attaches to both A-Arms - put the jack there to get both tires off the ground” this all is in prep to remove my wheels/tires to check the suspension/air/oil leaks/air bags … any advice highly appreciated!
Is there only ONE jack point location in the front? How to lift the wheels?

Let me try to explain a couple of different scenarios depending on what you are trying to do.
There are two ways I used to jack up
The front. The easiest was to use two bottle jacks under each lower A arm out close to the tire. You may have to raise the coach on the air bags in order to get the jacks to slide under the A arm.
The second method is to put a bottle jacks under the center plate between the lower A arms.
For the jack stand placement look behind the tire for a piece of channel iron that goes all the way from one side to the other. About 20 inches in you will see a large vertical frame member. The junction of the horizontal beam and the vertical beam works as a jack stand location.

Thank you Richard and Jeff! I think this is the correct position in the REAR of the coach for jack stands. I keep giving up on this because I am scared of getting squished under the coach - I will leave it here until tomorrow just to be sure it doesn’t move or sink into the concrete! Lol

I currently have (2) 20ton jack stands and (1) 20ton hydraulic jack (that I can’t find the stinking handle for!)… I can buy another bottle jack from HF if needed…
Are the directions quoted above for the FRONT only?

Your picture on the rear is perfect location. The instructions in. #44 were for the front only. I do not have a pic to send you. We are on the road.

So at the front - Richard said to put the jack under the A-arms or under the plate where the A-arms attach. So the pictures should show the correct location - for those of us that don’t know all the names of stuff under there: you meant THAT thingy??? Lol I’m learning… Is this the right position?

How would I crib up the front? Just stack some treated 4x4s under the middle section or maybe put some cross-braced treated 4x4 posts similar to the stacking in the photo?
Picture of cribbing… I don’t want the coach to slide sideways (laterally?) and squish me - jack stands would also be used since I’m paranoid…

Another question: I have my jack stands placed as above; If I want to pull my wheel off is the proper location under the shock or next to the wheel where the A-Arm is? Will my little 3Ton jack handle this or do I need to use the bottle jack (I like having it under the middle section just in case)…? Check the picture… am paranoid that the shifting of the A-arm will unhinge the jack stand…
