Air connections at back of coach - Chester Stone - 04-01-2014

I am installing Air Force One braking system for my towed Honda. Their special Coach Air Tank Assembly is installed in the coach and I am locating it at the back just above the engine electrical panel. I need two sources of coach air, Supply Air (unmetered) and Metered Air. My coach has two air connections on the rear bumper, and the metered air is on the drivers side and was used to supply air to my old system. I assumed the connector on the curb side was unmetered air, but there seems to be no air supply there. Can someone give me information on the curb side air connection?

What do you mean metered air? Do you mean the fitting has air pressure when you apply the brakes?

One of the air chucks is for incoming in case you have a compressor problem and want to air up via some outside source. The air multiplier has a cut off lever on that chuck on the wall next to the fuel filter

Richard, yes the metering is based on the brake pressure applied. Larry, there is also a chuck near the inside engine electrical panel, the air multiplier chuck and the two at the back on the bumper. I will do some testing today to see if I can connect to an unmetered air supply. The Air Force One has a tank assembly that isolates the coach braking air in the event of a tow breakaway and a severed air line.

On my 93 coach I have what looks to be an air line the ends near the secondary fuel filter. It may be the multiplier line some of you have mentioned. What the heck is a multiplier air supply? I've got a lot to learn despite having had a 77 Newell for a decade.

Jon I think that air line was for the bulk oil tank that a previous owner removed.

Newell sells them, Many of the members have one.. It multiplies the coach air to a level you can air up those 120 psi tires..... maybe someone has a photo of one.. and maybe the cost...

Here is a link.................Doubles whatever your inlet air pressure is. max 140psi at inlet=max 280 psi at outlet. Makes airing up tires with coach air easy.
