Ski trip - Yachts - 12-21-2014

Has anyone taking their coach snow skiing.. We are thinking of going to tiger run neater this week

RE: Ski trip - ron skeen - 12-22-2014

Been to Tiger Run several times and usually stay a week or so sking. They keep the park road open and the site clear. Have been their when temp were minus 15. Be sure drain all air tanks and you might want to even add a little air lines anti freeze. Keep the bay heaters on and don't hook up water and sewer lines just fill and dump tanks during the warm part of the day. Have fun and wish I was with you. They are a couple of places to go snowmobiling which is great.

Sounds like fun! It would be a cool adventure.

Flexibility in your schedule will really help to avoid driving in a storm. That way if a big storm comes the day you are planning on leaving you can just stay an extra day and don't have to drive 70' of vehicle down I70 in a snow storm. As an added bonus, you could go enjoy the fresh powder!

If your schedule is tight and you must leave on xyz day, watch the weather.

Do you need chains on your coach on I-70 in the winter?

RE: Ski trip - lbrachfe - 12-22-2014

YES, you do need chains where posted on I-70 during any snowfall from the E tunnel to Glenwood Springs

do you guys put chains on? that seems like a recipe for disaster

I've heard the cables work well and are ez to install. Such as these.. Anyone have experience with them?

RE: Ski trip - Fulltiming - 12-22-2014

I don't know if there is enough clearance between the outer drive tires and the wheel wells for those or not but if there is it looks like it would be easier to install than many chains I have seen.

IMHO it's best to keep coach in temps over 32 F. Use the wheels to follow the warm weather!

That's my plan CC!
