OTA TV and Satellite Antenna - pairodice - 11-01-2015

I tried the Over the air (OTA) antenna today and it would not move using the buttons in the cabinet where the DVD player is located.  Since it is over 15 years young I figured there is probably a short somewhere or maybe in the switch.  I will troubleshoot that one.  What OTA antenna do you recommend?  I figured I would just mount a newer OTA antenna on the same mast.
What stationary (not in-motion) HD satellite antenna system would you recommend for Dish Network HD channels.  I like the Winegard Travlr but not sure if there is another better option out there (the threads here are several years old).

I got rid of my Braun directional OTA and got a Winegard Road Star omni-directional.

I paid $90 for it, don't have to aim it. I haven't been far enough off the grid to need the directional antenna.

Steve, When you installed the Winegard Road Star does it take two cables or only one.  I have only one cable to the Braun and do not want to run another one.  My Braun is about mid way down.  The reason I ask is because somewhere I read it took two cables on some of the new Wingards.

Only one cable. I used the same one that went to the Braun.

Mine is 6 years old now.

Everyone is using the dish tailgater. Put it on ground with clear site to southern sky and it finds sats.

RE: OTA TV and Satellite Antenna - pairodice - 11-02-2015

I want HD channels - anyone using the Winegard Traveler? I thought about the tailgater but I would have to use a non-Hopper system and I love having the Hopper...

I have the traveler, and had it on the last coach too. Zero issues.
