See / measure black/grey water tank levels? - pairodice - 06-12-2016

Is there a place to SEE the black water tank?  Our level meter/sensor is gunked up and we cannot tell if the tank is really empty (or full).  How do you clean the sensors?  I have filled/flushed the tanks several times.  The grey/black water valve is open (tanks tied together) as it is not working correctly currently...

I'm confused. I would think a 1998 would be similar to my 2001. I have only one 160 gallon tank with two valves. The valve closest to the tank will retain the black water when closed up to 160 gallons, but the other valve has to be open to constantly divert the grey water into the sewer hose. I normally follow the practice of filling the fresh water tank at the same time I drain the grey/black water tank, and thus I never have be concerned with how much is in the sewer tank and both are always in balance.

Adrian. You only have a single tank

I know this is a really old thread, but Tom - What is the size of the site tube (ID)?

I'd like to change mine, as well as install a seelevel system. Just sorting how to run the wires and mount the display panels for the seelevel.

Thanks...

David,
I believe the ID is 5/8". Lowe's sells this https://www.lowes.com/pd/EZ-FLO-5-8-in-Inner-Diameter-x-10-ft-PVC-Clear-Vinyl-Tubing/1000180555
It has been a while since I changed this out and I'm going from memory. The cost is about $12 for the 10'.

Great - Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

When changing to the seelevel tank monitor system, can you simply pick a few wires from the original system harness to get the display working in the galley upstairs?

Here is a pic of the connector on the back of the original tank monitor board:

These coaches have so many wires in them it’s crazy. In my coach I’ve been trying to label wires as I learn them so the next owner or technician can have an easier go figuring things out. But simply choosing a few wires from this plug pictured feels too simplistic and naive to actually work.

Does anyone have a wiring schematic of the original tank monitor system from the early 2000’s?

I think I would migrate to a SeeLevel II setup. I believe the sensors mount to the outside of the tanks and one of the models has Bluetooth. Have heard several people give good feedback on it in Prevost groups.
