Started the Dayton direct drive blower mod. I’m fabricating a new mounting flange that I’ll bolt to the blower.

Sweet! Are those two lifts recessed in the garage floor?
Nice welds from what I could see.
Powder coating, baked it in Kristis’s Oven?
Do you think that frame will be stout enough? Just messin with you, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing, the Newell motto.

Yes, that’s my floor lift. When retracted it’s flush with the garage floor.
I found a oven that was used as a display model at a local appliance store... bought it cheap! It’s my powder coating/paint drying oven... no pizza in it?
Newell motto for me... Go Big or Go Home...
Getting ready to mount frame to fan. More pics to come.

love the oven part. i personally know nothing about overkill when it comes to doing things on the newell. so it is nice to see someone do it that way.

Upgraded blower motor ground wire to a #10. Added a grounding lug to housing.
Adding HushMat.

Great job!

Almost done.
I’m going to add a rubber gasket to the flange face to reduce vibration from fan to coach. I’ve ordered a switch that will allow me to select between low, med, and high speeds. I’m going to mount the motor capacitor away from the fan.
And for my next trick...
And after that...

Wow, Jeff! That is sweet! Great idea with the hushmat! I’m buying one of the new blowers from Grainger - should be here on Tuesday - I wish I had a welder to build that frame! I will have to take mine to a local welder and have them weld the old bracket to the new motor.
