Dear Newell Gurus, If you need a wiper motor for the older coaches with two motors, I've found the 230-2001 (RH) and 230-1001 (LH) fit my wiper gear box mounts (bolt in!) (#277 1991) from AM Equipment in Jefferson, OR 541 327-1546. Even better, Butch Helland there on the help will take the time to help you solve your wiper motor problems. These will replace the Bosch motors that are no longer available.

Good miles to you!
Danny

Can we have the Bosch motors rebuilt?

Thanks for the info, it looks like these would bolt in and replace my air wiper motors. What I would really like to find is a single motor and linkage that will do intermittent and variable speed and will replace both motors. I've seen some solutions on eBay a few years ago, but not recently. My '73 Newell had that, and I was able to put in a steering column that had the headlights and wipers on the column.

Has anyone had any luck with these replacing air motors on the classic Newells?

The controller is the unit which determines speed and delay. Mine is installed in the dash.

I'm sorry for my ignorance but are you saying that these electric motors will replace the air motors on the 1980's classic Newells? Or just replacements for the newer electric motors on the newer Newells?

RE: windshield wiper motors - dannymarilyn - 02-13-2026

Dear Terry, Well, they probably could replace the air driven units if the mountings are the same. Of course, you would have to install all of the wiring and a new controller switch.

I used them because the old electricBosch motors are no longer available!

A lot of the question is what you wish to do. If the mountings are the same, and if you want electric wipers, this is one solution.

In any regard good luck!

Ah, ok. In that case i think I will try to rebuild the control "switches" first. I've already rebuilt the air motors and that seemed to help but it didn't really cure the problem.  Someone on here said it is normally NOT the motors but rather the dashboard controls that are usually the problem. If all this fails I'll look into elelectric. Thanks.
