Dometic Condenser Fan Motor Replacement - Richard - 05-08-2019

The original spec motors for this application are nigh impossible to find.

This motor from Grainger works. https://www.grainger.com/product/3RCX4?cm_mmc=EMT-_-10339122-_-OrderConf2018NavBar-_-OnlineGuest-KPIRPE-_-Item&RIID=26665997575&GID=&mid=EMT-_-10339122-_-OrderConfirmation-_-Item&rfe=95325217b21c2d15facaade643313fcd7dd8f919e10607133a5523ad2d102e99&gcrfe=95325217b21c2d15facaade643313fcd7dd8f919e10607133a5523ad2d102e99

The belly band fits around the body, the shaft is the right length and diameter. You will have to saw/grind the mounting screws off both ends. You will also have to demount the included start cap. You have two equal choices then, use the included start cap 5MFD, or use the original fan portion of the original start cap.

Just thought I would add that I successfully installed two of these Grainger motors in my 96 (#402). I did find out the plug on there that reverses the direction needed to be swapped from its "out of the box" state for the motor to turn the squirrel cage fan in the proper direction.

They have been working great for me for over a year!
