Yay or Nay - BusNit - 01-18-2022

I placed jack stands at where I think would be a safe load handling point of the front of the chassis. Am I wrong to put them there? Compressor is keeping things afloat until I get some reaffirmation! Found two air leaks so far and one is at some manifold above the front 6pack. Not sure what that one does but they have a 1/4" tube bent and tied off. (I posted the jack location on FB too)

That is where I put cribbing when I block mine up. Works great.

Thanks Kyle!

Is the crimped off line supposed to be connected to that solenoid above ? Is that the Dump Solenoid ? Maybe the solenoid leaks and that was a emergency fix that became permanent ?

RE: Yay or Nay - BusNit - 01-18-2022

I have no idea what that does nor do I have any information on that repair from all the invoices I went through. Interestingly enough after about a week, the left front wheel squats first before the right one does. All airbags have been replaced.

RE: Yay or Nay - DK on the road - 01-18-2022

A soapy spray bottle is you friend for leaks. Spray everything. Then replace all push on fitting you can with DOT compression fitting where possible. I've gotten to the point that once I'm up in a location and fixing one leak, I replace any others I see in the same area.

RE: Yay or Nay - BusNit - 01-18-2022

Thanks Dave. I have been doing just that. Replacing everything with compression fittings rather than push on fittings. The soapy water did reveal the kinked off tube leaking along with the generator airbag pressure valve doohickey.

As Dave said, looks like the cut airline goes to the solenoid just above it. Follow the lines out of that solenoid to see what it operates. Could be for the air horn? Does your air horn work?

RE: Yay or Nay - BusNit - 01-19-2022

Air horn does work. Could it be for the tag axle? That's the only thing I hadn't played with. That along with the diff lock.

NO, those solenoids are in the rear engine bay.
