hitch weight - Dan M - 10-09-2023

Does anyone know the weight limit on the hitches Newell was installing in 2008 coaches?  (I am not referring to the tow bar)

Thanks,
Dan

The towing capacity was 20,000 pounds for years, from at least 1990, then Newell uprated their coaches to 25,000 pounds max towing capacity. I think yours is still in the 20,000 pound tow limit range. I know by 2014, the tow capacity was 25,000 pounds.

As to the actual hitch that was installed, that would have been based on the needs of the customer ordering the coach originally. I have seen some with 5,000 pound receivers and some with 18-20,000 pound rated receivers. Many of the P2000i coaches (starting in 2005) had 14,400 pound receivers (1400# of tongue weight) installed but I would NEVER say that a particular coach had that receiver installed.
