Time for a change - 360 - 04-21-2025

So I went to the dark side with the 2007 Prevost Legendary XLII below a couple of months ago.  It has been amazing to have been a part of this group for the last 4+ years, making new friends and learning about 458 and 653.  653 went off to it's new home today with a lovely couple that will I'm sure announce themselves soon in this group.  While I changed brands I won't be going anywhere anytime soon as to me this group is about way more than just owning a Newell.

Welcome brother, stop by sometime we are 50 miles south of Newell. Your 100% correct about the group!

That is a beautiful coach. Congratulations. In the future could you give us  the positives , and negatives vs a Newell ?

Guy not speaking for anyone else but myself so here is my take, the Prevost is like driving a large van and the Newell is like driving a house, I can drive the Prevost where I would never drive the Newell its 1 foot shorter in height and 5 feet less in length but I have driven Gordons 45 footer and it's just like driving my 40 and can't tell the difference at all. Now storage space is far less compared to the Newell we don't have anything close to the Newell and Gordon has far more than we do in his 45. We do not have slides and that is for a reason so less room for sure but less headaches for sure, we spent almost 5 months in ours and realize less is better. The interior in a Newell is probably the best in the industry but there are a few converters of Prevost who come close we have a Marathon and really like it. The Prevost is a bus made to haul people a million miles so they design it around rugged useage and all weather conditions for instance the seals on the compartments of our Newell are on the door which presses up against the coach to seal and keep water out and they fail all the time and you end up with water in the bays, on the prevost the doors and frames are made of stainless steel and the seal on the bus side in a U track around the door and there is a bar on the door that presses up against the rubber inside the U and I believe it could hold pressure if it had to and this is just one example of craftsmanship. The saying no two Newells alike is a fact and there is no documentation or very little on construction of the coach, the Prevost has full schematics and diagrams that came with the bus and also you can put your vin on the Prevost car and download anything you want and comes with full parts manual and I will say the parts are very reasonable, I have only ordered one part a ride height valve for the front and it was $158 with free shipping, the other part I wanted to order was window seals and they are no longer made so I order from Amazon and will make my own. Motor and transmission are the same in the Newell and the Prevost so no difference there but the weight is amazingly different where the bus weighs in at less than 40k lbs and the Newell is over 60k. I forgot what Gordons weighed in but think his was 48k this is why it drives so different. Can't say much about the 2007 XLII but they do have slides but valid slides and they will have to chime in about that.
