Televator issue - [email protected] - 06-09-2025

Good morning

I’m new to the Newell family having bought my first one just a few months ago. I’m having issues with the televator (tv lift). The tv lift is an activated decor lift.  I was out camping and lost all power one evening, while the tv was up. After restoring power, the tv lift will not go back down. When I flip the switch to retract the tv it just makes a beeping sound. It seems like I may need to do a reset or reprogram the limits or something along those lines. Problem is I don’t have a manual in all my info. I’ve called activated decor and received a voicemail where I left a message. After no response I emailed their info email address and still have not received any response from them. It’s been about 10 days now. Does anyone on here have a manual or a procedure for setting limits or resetting the lift? I’ve read that there is a control box for these and there is a reset inside that box, but I don’t seem to see any type of box in the tv cabinet area. I have attached a photo of the remote control for the lift.

Just some thoughts for your consideration. Have you located the outlet it is plugged into and verified it has power. I think those were on an inverter circuit. Do you have anything else on the inverter circuits that doesn't work, if so, it might be a tripped breaker.

Thank you for the response. I have not looked for the outlet it is plugged into yet. The unit emits a beep when I flip the switch for it to go down. Wouldn’t that indicate it has power?

Most likely that lift was put in by Newell directly from when Bill owned it as I think he had almost all interior work done there. Give Creslie a call and he should be able to walk you through how to reset, etc. or he'll have one of the other guys assist. I have to think you're not the first to have a power issue with a lift in the up position.

The controller is in the wood work behind the couch on the right side. It might be accessible if you fold down the sofa. Look for black screws buried in the black felt wall covering. You could try turning off all the breakers next to the inverter to see if you can reset power to the lift that way.

I dont remember the seeing the manual….but yes…it is a standard Newell installation so Newell should be able to help you get going.

Brad, and Bill

Thank you both for responding. I will give Creslie a call but first I will look for the control box where Bill has described it to be. You guys are awesome!!

Also, if you look into the hole that the TV lifts through, you might see where the TV is plugged in next to the floor. I dont remember if the outlet is directly under the TV…or it might be farther to the right behind the brace. (Follow the cord to see). The lift should be plugged into same outlet as tv.

Argh...no...my PTSD is kicking in...I can LITERALLY hear those beeps in my head right now!   Angry
Long beep, beep beep beep beep; This means it’s lost its programming!
Incidentally, both the ActiveDecor AND the newer NEXUS lifts are such a PITA!
I've been fighting with these lifts going on 6 years now!

I will give the manual to you, but it takes a bit of side-notes to cut through the fog.

Basically, you need to set the limits again.

NOTE: you MUST perform ALL of these set points...even if the UP and NORMAL (F1) positions seem the same or else the functions will not work!

Any time I’ve had power OR HEAT issues, that brain fails. Oh, and you’ll blow the internal fuse if you run it too many times!

I'm attaching the Manual and Trouble-shooting flowchart; both of which aren't nearly as straight-forward as my "Digested Tried and Proven" steps above/

LMK if it helps!

Steve

Thank you very much for your reply. That was extremely helpful and I’m sure it will be just what I need to get this working again. Sorry for the delay in responding as I’ve been out of town and just flew back today.

Safe travels
