Newell Inspector near Wichita, KS? -
BarberBus - 07-10-2025
Hello Gurus! My wife and I are considering purchasing a 2004 Newell Coach in Wichita, KS but would like to have a full inspection before proceeding. It has 12 year old tires, so we are very hesitant to test drive it, let alone take it to Miami, OK for full service. Can anyone suggest A qualified individual/business near Wichita who could to do a thorough on-site inspection?
Thanks for any suggestions or recommendations!

Jim welcome, there are a fairly small group of active folks on here, and we are spread out. I am sure if one is was close we could help you look at the coach. I am in Florida, so I am not much help. I am sure many here will help answer any questions you have but finding someone qualified to inspect these can be difficult. I ended up trusting my gut and pulling the trigger on mine. I had an RV inspector I called but they did not even know what a Newell was, so I decided to inspect it myself when I got to Texas. You may try calling Newell to see if they have an authorized service provider in the area, but that may be a long shot.

Thank you Jeff! I appreciate the knowledge and experience that you and others on this forum can share. Yes, we did ask Newell headquarters and they were very helpful with pulling service records on this particular coach, yet did not have anyone in the Wichita area they could refer us to. As the coach hasn’t been driven in about 3 years, has 12 year old tires, and currently has no water in the tanks to check plumbing, you can imagine my desire to have it well inspected before investing into ownership. It is beautiful and appears to be in great condition however, and has been stored in a very nice climate controlled building. I appreciate your input Jeff!

No problem, I am no expert on these and am learning every time I work on mine. I will tell you my coach was in a similar situation, owners health was declining and the coach had sat in indoor storage for several years. I have had to do quite a bit of work to get it back operational. Things to think about with it sitting that long are seals drying out etc in water system as well as in the chassis systems. Our coach did not seem to suffer from sitting and the owners family did at least get new batteries installed in it and got the generator back running before we purchased it. It will be hard for an inspector to test things unless the coach is able to have water etc hooked up to it, most inspectors will want this. Not sure if its worth it or not but there is an RV tech that I like to watch on Youtube that is familiar with Newells, I do not know him but for watching his youtube channel but he seems to be a good resource. He is in Arizona but I know he travels quite a bit doing inspections and driving coaches across the country.
