My Newell required this adapter for the turn signal/ brake lights to function correctly. I mounted it in the rear terminal box on back wall of the engine bay where the tail light connections are made.

Can you borrow someone else’s cable? It may be that simple. I have had to replace mine.

Make sure front turn signals on coach are working. I had the same issue and my front coach turn signal was out. Changed bulb no luck. Took it apart to find lots of corrosion. Changed fixture all is well.

Fred,

I don’t know you very well, so forgive my primitive questions. You didn’t give us much to work with in the initial assessment.

First question is do you have a voltmeter and know how to use it?
Is so, have you checked the voltage at both the end of the umbilical cable, and the plug at the rear of the coach? You can go online and get a diagram of what terminal is what depending on the style plug you are using.

Second, does the turn signal work just using the toad as a vehicle? If it does that rules out a bulb issue.

Third, is it safe to assume that the turn signal and brake light work as intended on the coach?

FYI, I know that on our era coach and beyond, the turn signals to the toad (through the 7-way) are NOT ACTIVE unless I have the parking brake released.

If alone, I test the turn signals by using the HAZARDS.

If you are at the back of the coach, looking at the engine, open the polished door on the extreme right. Look in there for for a small box something similar to what HoosierDaddy posted. Mine was at the very top right, Black with a yellow label. If you have that, check to see if you have the input signal to it AND the output signal. My coach did pretty much the same thing, and I had to replace that unit. 

I had checked the 7 way plug, and there was a really low voltage output, but not enough to run the LED's on my '21 Wrangler. I then traced the wires back to that box being bad. The input had a strong 12v signal, and the output had that weird sub 4v signal. Both the Left and Right had the same problem. For tracing, the same wire color at the 7 way, is the same wire color to the output of that box.
