stuck on softer driveway - [email protected] - 10-03-2025

Backed onto my paver pad that is on an incline. one tire started spinning and pavers were dug up! drive wheels now sitting on fairly soft roadbase. any ideas what to put under/in front of drive tires?  what precautions if I attach a tow rope to the front-ie where ?

Did you dump the air in the tag to see if you can get the drives back on the ground? Just have someone keep on an eye on the back so it does not drag.
Are both tires in the air? Do you have the axle lock? I would think the easiest thing to get would be some lumber, 2x10's. Whatever you do, be gentle and easy on the throttle. Shock to the diff's is a killer and could cost you big bucks. If I attached to anything it would be back behind the generator to the steel frame that holds the front A-arms. Your just going to have to be careful not to pull up on the generator area. May be better to use two straps, one on each side of the generator area, still have to be careful of pulling up on the front fiberglass cap. You will be surprised, you do not need much pulling force to help get it unstuck, so whoever is pulling needs to take it easy as well. Slow and steady gets it done without damage.

On the front of 1482 there are hooks welded onto the front frame for the tow strap attachment. If you have that and are not buried a 4X4 pickup might pull you out using those going forward or the rear trailer hitch going backwards. I did that this summer. Whatever you do have a spotter watching the drives. If they spin with no coach movement stop immediately. You cannot feel it, a spotter is necessary. You can easily end up buried to the frame.

I have had 712 ZF  stuck a few times to pull it backwards I hook on the trailer hitch, to pull it forward I hook on to the front weldment that the 
A arms are attached to I put a piece of 2x2 1/4 wall across the front skid plates so the chain can not damage the fiberglass I remember tying it up so it could not drop if the chain came loose.
To lift the back I raise the suspension all the way up crib it up with hardwood 4x4 s (it just crushes soft wood) dump the suspension I have a 12X12X 3/4 steel plate I put under the jack and lift the rear axle depending how deep the the hole is I fill it up with pavers or gravel then put wood under the wheels If the drives spun because the front sunk I pick the front wheels up fill the hole and put wood under the tires so it will move without spinning the drives. To pick up the front I raise the suspension crib under the front weldment dump the bags I have low profile jacks that I use under the A arm right where they attach to the spindle, You have to be careful if you were not going straight and you dump the air the front will want to move sideways I have had it move the cribbing I think the side walls on the rear tires are flexed and when the front tires have no weight on them the front moves sideways it has happened to me more than once.
I carry a 20 and 8 ton air over hydraulic and 2 8 ton low profile jacks, and lots of 4X4 hardwood cribbing
There are no hooks on the front of 712
