Odd Tire Wear - Rixson - 11-18-2025

See picture and I plan to replace it but is this a bad tire, a worn component... suspension or bearings or?    I do get a vibration between 68 and 71 mph on certain roadways but it is not always noticeable.

Replacements are gonna be toyo M156 11r24.5  Anybody have experience with those?

I have them on 390. I like them better than the Michelin that were on it before

On my motorcycle I saw this type of wear once with an underinflation issue.

Is this the tag tire? If so I would think about bad shocks, or it could be just from scrubbing during turns. You may also want to make sure that the air bags are properly inflating. What is the age of the airbags on the tag, maybe they are leaking and not keeping adequate pressure on the tire allowing it to skid under braking. As others said check the inflation pressure is correct.

Underinflated tag tire and wornout bushings in tag suspension

Aren't the tag bearings suspect too?

Bearings and shocks should be checked as Jeff said.

I based my guess on the number of tag bushings that I have seen that are kaput and allow the tire to go out of alignment. So the tire is being dragged down the road. Lower air pressures make the tag edge dig in causing the scallop.

Some enterprising fellow ran an experiment once to lower the tag pressure to the minimum because that was still above the weight on the tire. 500 mile later the tag looked exactly like the one in the picture. Needless to say the inflation was increased right then and there.

Well, I appreciate all the responses.I failed to get back in here.A couple of days ago when I meant to. This is actually a steer tire..passenger side and i've checked the inflation often they a consistently right at 100...
I don't know why I didn't make it clear which tire location it was sorry for the confusion..

Have you weighed the front axle? 100 could be low per the inflation tables for your weight. Especially if you are running an 11R tire and not a 315.
