Audio video updating -

In our 2006 Newell the audio and video systems are a bit outdated, I was wondering what others have done to update things since the wiring and connections look like a complete nightmare. We want to install our Starlink which isn’t an issue except it won’t connect to the tv’s. I can put in a fire stick with a composite to hdmi converter but that just seems like I’m putting a small bandage on a bigger issue. Any ideas or update help would be appreciated.

Which StarLink do you have? On my Standard there are network ports that I never noticed until last week - behind a rubberized cover on the router (not the dish). I ripped all my a/v receiver (old) and the tube TV out and replaced with a 32” LED TV. I’ve replaced the receiver with a newer one but really never use it. We stream music through the TV and sound goes through the soundbar below the front TV…

Hi Adrian we have the small rv Starlink. We used it on our previous RV and it worked great. I am installing 2 new Firetv’s but I am a bit reluctant to start charging out the tuners. The sound system is really nice and I think I can get the tv’s to go through the surround sound. What would you use the network port for if the tv is wireless? Is it to get a faster connection for streaming? Thanks for responding, it’s nice to hear what other people are doing before you dive in.

The network ports are if you want to use a different router than the Starlink router.

So. You need a newer av receiver with HDMI ARC capabilty. Run an hdmi cable from tv to receiver a d the remote on the tv will turn the av receiver on off and adjust volume. That way tv comes through the newell i stalled speakers
I did this on our new to us coach and ripped out miles of interconnecting cables and switching boxes.
