Newbie and need some help - cyclefamily1960 - 04-06-2026

I am now the proud owner of coach 738, a 2005.
this site is awesome ans a wealth of help.
I picked it up last week in FL and drove it to MI. We had a couple of thigs happen on the way that I am in the proccess of taking care of, but that is to be expected. Big Grin

Both the wipers stopped working on the way when we had some huge wind gust that lifted then about 4 inches off the windshield and stopped them from moving. If anyone has info on checking and or replacing the wiper motors, that would be helpfull.

A waterline under or behind the fridge started leaking. I will take the drawers out, the bottom panel off and see if I can find the leak.

One of the former owners took out the thomas air compressors and replaced it with one cheap Campbell Hausfield. He has the pressure regulater on the compressor at 40PSI and I am not it sure what that should be set at.

Thanks much guys.

I would check where the wiper arms attach to the spindle as well as the linkage to the motors. I have purchased wiper parts for my Newell from these guys.

I am in Northern Indiana. Just wondering how close you are?

Set the compressor to come on at 70 anf off at 90. Likely the comprywas turned down due to air leaks. Find them and fix them. Compressor running all rhe time fills the air system with moisture

Did they quit moving or just lifted off the windshield? If they lifted then that place Dean recommended may have a wiper arm with larger springs. I'm a big fan of Harbor Freight ultra quiet compressors, have two jun-air compressors in the garage but bang for buck Harbor Freight kicks butt, I did however have to change the regulator to one with a wider band for on and off pressures. Been working over a year and comes on once every 24 hours.

I am just south of Grand Rapids, in Dorr, MI.
Wippers lifted, then stopped moving. I had to manually move them back to the upright position.  They moved with very little resistance.

Thanks for the reply.

Am I right to assume that that there is a regulaor that is seperate for the slide seals? I was worried about over Pressurizing them.
The entry door dosen't close without assistance to get it started. Is that because of the low pressure he has it set at?

Yes on separate regulator for the seals. Should be 12 to 20.

Yep doors and potty (if Microphor) need 60 psi to operate properly.

Sorry about the typos in my first reply, in my defense I was typing on soda cracker.

I will second Jack’s comment on the HF ultra quiet compressors. Yes you will have to take it off the skid and wire/plumb it in. They are just as quiet as the Thomas, maybe quieter.

Others have had success with California Air compressors.

This is a good post, I have a leaking regulator and was wanting to double check the pressures for the various systems.
