Electric engine fans? -

The new place i work has a bunch of trucks. They all have detroit 60s in them. The real key here that got me thinking is. The electric engine fan conversions they have done. No engine horsepower being robbed by the engine fan anymore. That would open up a lot of extra room in the engine bay as well. Anyone else do it yet? Or will I have to eventually be the first one to work it out.

Prevost is using electric fans. They claim a 1-4% fuel economy improvement. My 8V-92 has rear radiator using engine driven fan. I have considered adding an electric puller fan to the side of the engine bay as a helper .

Good to hear from you Carl, hope all is well. I know on our prevost when your standing in the back and the fan kicks on its violent on the the belts and airbags that support the drive.

The place i work now in Maine is a tiny trucking outfit. They have 6 trucks. And one of the owners kids just bought a 95 prevost. Hes done all kinds of work to it. Looks nice though. Got a good deal on it last fall and worked on it through the winter. Ive been trying to save up some money so I can put some new floors in mine. Looks like a salon window had a week at one point and took out some flooring. Not a huge issue but needs to be done. Floors. Drivers window needs resealed. And then on to the pretty things. Like new upholstery and curtains. New wallpaper. Should be amazing in the next 5-10 years.
