I have noticed a lot of new Chevy Equinox being flat towed. Seems that MOST of the General Motors small suv platform is compatible with flat towing. (Chevy Equinox, Buick Enclave, GMC Terrain,) I am not a fan of any particlar brand of vehicle, as all of them will eventually let you down, but this seems to be a cost efffective alternative to those who don't want a 4x4, or the added hassle of using a tow dolly, transmission lube pump kits, etc.
