Rudy, attached is a photo of my AquaHot thermostat panel. Are you talking about the red button that I have highlighted? If not, I must be looking in the wrong place. The diesel burner works great and heats rapidly.

That looks like the $400 thermostat. Rudy guided me in replacing mine last year. Hopefully yours just needs to be reset.

Yes Sir Chester.

Sorry I took so long to get back but I have been flying in a V-tailed Bonanza and in a Robertson R44 helicopter. Too much fun.

To test the high limit thermostat if pushing the red button does not get the amps to jump up, you turn on the Aqua Hot electric switch. This put power to the high limit thermostat. ALL terminals should measure 120 vac to ground.

If voltage on top terminals but not bottom terminals, bad thermosat.

If no voltage on any terminal, report back for more tests.

Be careful of the hot treminals.

Pressed the red button this morning. Amps before turning on electric heat, #1 1 amp, #2 8 amps and with switch on, #1 8 amps, #2 8 amps. Yesterday, #1 increased when the switch was turned on, but today, #2 increased by the same 7 amps. ????

Correction, both yesterday and today, # 1 increased by about 7 amps when the electric heat is turned on. It seem that pressing the red button changed nothing.

Rudy, electronics and milti-meters are not my expertise so I want to be sure I do it correctly. On the attached photo, the top terminals are numbered numbers 1 and 2, and the bottom two are 3 and 4. I will turn the switch on, then set the multi-meter to A/C 250 volts and touch the red prong to terminal 1 with the black prong to ground. Repeat for terminal 2. If there is power on either or both, then what? If no power, then I should check for power at terminals 3 and 4. Please advise if this is the correct procedure.

Power on 1 and 2 indicate the grey relay is closed by turning on the electric switch and is conducting power to the thermostat.

Power on 3 and 4 indicate the thermostat is conducting.

No power means the grey relay is not conducting or the control thermostat is stuck open.

I am traveling but would be happy to talk on phone while you perform these tests at 713 8 one 8 3 two 34.

Rudy, three times I have checked the increase in amps when the switch is turned on, and every time the #1 circuit increases 7 amps. I checked this morning and all four terminals have 110 volts.
