How low will a coach drop to fit in storage
#21

I'll be traveling to some new spots this season and will be carrying an extendable pruning saw as my measuring stick and then saw when needed.

Just my 2 cents here. A quick way to be escorted our of a campqround is to begin sawing branches large or small.. Owners and managers freak out. Think of it as being a guest in someones home and trimming the bushes. If you point out the problem, I am sure the campground will trim it for you.

Manuel, To answer your height question of my coach. I have 3 newer AC units on my coach, all of which are a lower profile than the 4th and original. At the newer Coleman mach units the coach at travel is 13' 1". At the original AC (4th unit) I am 13' 3". If i lower all air bags I can be at 12' 9" and 12' 11" respectively. I know that you can move very slowly with the coach lowered, but I think time and/or speed will reset the coach back to travel height again.

I have had tree branch issues. I have asked the Campground owners if I could trim. I'd say 50/50 will let me or they will cut. but each time I have asked and notified the campground manager first. Also, its been quite the delay for an answer each way.

Dave thanks for commenting. I promise Guy and Sue I wont just start cutting. One trust that when one asks a campground or Rv “resort” if their trees are trimmed that they hopefully have their trees nicely trimmed to hopefully at least 14’6” …
Before buying this Newell I had a Forest River Legacy ( Andrew recently posted a video at The Motor coach store where I sold it to Brad to sell) anyway I unfortunately were new at the coach/ bus thing and had branches scrape down the passenger side of the coach. When I got home it took me a 6 hours to polish it all out …
Unfortunately with incoming traffic the entrance did not leave any room. Again one would have thought the campground would make sure it provides a clear road in and out.
Like you say it probably takes a while to find the manager and somebody to come cut branches and how much blocking of traffic will one cause.

It is interesting to hear that one could drive a short distance with the bags I assume somewhat but not fully deflated.

I should have mentioned my travels will be to private property and not public spaces.
