2015 Valve Extension Staiblizer Dilemma
#1
Photo

Ok...I've done my diligence and scoured all ends of the inter-earth, including too many phone calls, on this one.

I'm attempt to replace all my valve stems and extensions on my wheels.  I bought official Alcoa kits, as per the REP at Alcoa to be sure I got perfect matches to our rims, unique to Newells.
Problem is, the rubber Stabilizer grommets (P/N 8864 - see below) are supposedly 2.5" but they ARE NOT a tight fit!!  In fact, without doping them up with silicone, I'm guessing they'd just flop out of the hole.

Does anyone, by chance, know anything further on this silly little deal?

I've dug and dug...and this is the best info I came up with...yet...argh!!

For Alcoa Wheel (22.5 x 9) #896510 with 2.5" hand-hole:
  • Alcoa Stems #70MS07
  • Alcoa Extensions #000392
  • Alcoa Stabilizers #008864

The small stuff drives us nuts.

Try this link. They mention 22.5 Alcoa wheels for motorhomes that use 2.6 hand holes, not 2.5.

Good luck.

Thanks, Guy.  But, unfortunately, I’ve called Alcoa and given them the actually model number of my wheels, and they confirmed that i got the correct size, which is 2.5”.  The “ULTRA” wheels are a different model number.

But…I’m with you…on both counts!  It’s driving me NUTS, and, I feel the correct size would be 2.6!!!

I’m waiting for a call from the “expert” at Haltec…the people who actually make these things for Alcoa.

Wow..so much time wasted. HUH?
