Why a Newell
#1

Last Thursday on I15 in Eastern Idaho. I've owned RVs built like this until I learned about Newells.

Unfortunately, I have seen several trailers and motorhomes that came apart like that.

I had 2 trailers where the house departed the chassis. I don't like stick and staple construction much.

Newell is a Class A diesel pusher, with GVWR typically over 50000 lbs. Springdale Trailer is just a light trailer, probably between 4000 - 7000 lbs range, and the cost of a Springdale trailer is probably more than 10 - 20 times less.
They are totally different classes.
Fortunately, no one was injured or hurt, Here is the news report:

I posted this because the trailer pictured is constructed like the majority of all RVs manufactured, Newell being an exception. I became aware of this in the mid-nineties prior to purchasing my first Newell. There was an article on the internet at that time talking about the difference between frame rail and monocoque construction in RVs, Newell being semi-monocoque and Prevost being monocoque. Here is a picture of a Class A diesel pusher, with a tag axel, that has overturned.

You can purchase a 2022 Tiffan Zephyr for $832,333, less than half the cost of a new Newell. https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2022-Ti...5018653027
