Leaking elbow on 12V water pump
#1

Replacing my 12V water pump with another Seaflo and I can’t for the life of me get one of the elbow fittings to quit leaking.  Anyone else have this issue?

Is it leaking from the barb where the tubing connects to the elbow?

Or is it leaking from where the elbow connects to the pump?

If leaking at the tubing connection, snip off 1/2 inch of the tubing and try again. The vinyl tubing can take a “set” over time and may not be very tight on the barb.

If leaking at the elbow to pump connection. Clean the connection first. Look carefully to see if the stiff tubing is cocking the connection. I had to use a long piece of tubing and bend it in a complete loop to get the tubing to align properly without putting a sideways force on the connection.

It's leaking at the elbow to pump connection.  It does seem like it's in a bit of a bind so that must be it.

Are these the fittings with o-ring that just snap in? You might try either changing the o-ring or putting some silicone grease on it.

Attempted to align the elbow better with the 1” tubing and am still getting a tiny leak so I had Morgan send me a couple of new elbows to try a new one and it would be nice to have a spare.  Included in the package was a cone shaped gasket of sorts that is not currently a part that was being used.  Any suggestions on how to best use that as maybe that will also shore up my leak?

does that gasket fit into the black nut? Align the taper of the gasket with the taper of the nut?
