Are you "thinking" that using their "Family/Household" option is letting your spouse share your PRIME membership? Well, we were...until I found out we WEREN'T!

YOU BETTER CHECK to make sure they're not DOUBLE-BILLING you!! I just discovered they had suckered my wife into a Prime membership and charged us $16/month for the past 2.5 years, on top of my annual subscription of $150!!

Before you wonder how this could happen, just realize that monthly charge can be disguised and buried in all the other similar named line items on the Amazon Visa. I feel suckerpunched, and found it only because my wife asked me to see if we got a refund for something she returned using our "Prime Visa"...which is the same card that Amazon uses to charge our PRIME membership...or should I say membershipS!

Figuring we couldn't be the only ones, I set out to research and to no surprise, IT'S A BIG PROBLEM!! I found many forums, reddit threads, and more. Amazon will "as a courtesy", give you 6 months credit. Big whoop.

In 2023, the FTC has filed and taken action against AMAZON for their practices of NON-CONSENSUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS AND CANCELATION TRICKERY!! I'm not saying they fixed the problem, just that this reinforces that the problem exists and has happened enough to gain a federal level of complaint.

I just hope that my oversight and situation helps someone else from having the same happen.

We are currently boondocking in the clatsop state forest in Oregon, and though we have only had constant rain, when we drive into town there are signs for "snow zone, snow tires or chains required". I'm buying chains for the GL350, but I have some questions on getting some for the coach.

Chains: does anyone have brand/model recommendations.

Drive axle: do I need chains just for the outside set of wheels or ones that cover both sets?

Ride height: should I adjust the ride height up for better clearance of the chains?

Tips and tricks: if anyone has tips and tricks for running with chains, I am all eyes and ears. I also get the best tip/trick is don't get yourself somewhere that you need chains.

We were looking for some boondocking in the Olympic forest in Washington earlier in the month. Ended up being a hill climb from the get go, all the way up to the snow line. By the time we actually reached the end of private land, I started up a hill, and about 200 feet in, we were no longer going up hill. Ended up backing down, while threading the trailer into a single lane bridge at a 90° turn, we had just passed to get turned around. ? With a wall of dirt on one side, and an unguarded cliff on the other, I got one attempt to get it right, since pulling forward wasn't an option to straighten out.

To be quite honest, I rather go back to shoving C130s around fighter parking in an active combat zone than attempt that reverse feat again.

I hope everyone is having a happy holiday season, and thanks in advance!

Two part Question:
Is anyone Near there and can pick up, maybe ship for me?

Or, if you are coming to the No Rally, Rally at the end of the month/first week of October could bring it there?
Just putting out some feelers. I trust you all far more than the auction and shipping folks!

Let’s start with Rhonda does a pretty good job of keeping my ego in check.. Even with that, I sometimes have to reflect on the stupidity of something I have done to cut me down to size.

I spent all day yesterday in such an exercise.

Let’s start with the background. Some years ago I installed a fancy bidet attachment on the rear potty that required the potty seat to be spaced upward another 1/4 or so. I glued some hard rubber to the “feet” on the potty seat, and that worked well for five or more years. Not attractive, but it worked. Time goes by and the potty seat developed cracks that would pinch your behind if you shifted just right while seated.

Did I say we had the stupidest color of potties ever conceived, black?

You don’t go to Lowes and get a black potty seat. No it requires an Amazon delivery, which must be carefully coordinated with our travel schedule. Ok, it’s here and the story begins. Sorry about the preamble.

Rhonda casually mentions the previous spacer design was hard to clean. Ok, got it. I got the bright idea to use some 1 inch diameter rubber chair tips in black of course. I carefully cut them to the right height, used plastic compatible epoxy, and epoxied them to the underside of the seat. It worked great.

For a while. As you know, it’s hard to glue anything to injection molded plastic. Bride announces that two of the four spacers are missing. Hmmmmmmmm. Holding the flapper open I was able to fish one of them out with some long pliers. But the other one was not to be found. In my pathological optimism, I imagined it flushing all the way into the waste tank. I was soon to discover that was not the case. Rhonda flushed the potty the next day, and water gushed out from under the base of the potty. If you are familiar with the Microphor design, you understand that means the hopper is compromised in some way and the discharge line is blocked.

Out comes the potty, and I caught a break. The missing spacer is exactly the right diameter to perfectly plug the discharge. At least I don’t have to try to get it out of the discharge line to the waste tank. The large o ring that seals the hopper halves is blown out, and the screws that hold the halves together are stripped out of the plastic. Folks, this is not a tank that has been holding distilled water for the last 25 years. But it has to been cleaned up before reassembly with stainless bolts and nuts. That was my time of reflection on how stupid it was to try to epoxy the spacers on plastic, how stupid it was to use BLACK spacers, and how stupid it was to use a spacer large enough to plug the discharge.

All is good, reinstalled, and functional. And I have had a nice long hot shower.

this is newell related only by the fact that the trailer is fairly close to the newell...

that said, i am looking for the greater wisdom you all have....

i have a 24 ft equipment trailer i used for my tractor when needed or anything else.

the wood planks need something on them.

i am in research overload. i know some use used motor oil, but that is too messy for me. i wont use it. i called a trailer place and they said to use boiled linseed oil.

it is a trailer so i will not be spending much if any time prepping it.

the wood is getting pretty dry here in the az sun.

and i am not trying to spend my retirement fund doing it....

any experience and or suggestions?

Kathleen and I originally wanted a no side 40 footer and ended up with a 45 with slides, I know everybody says why would you want a no slide coach when you have a slide coach well because they are a luxury item that comes with cost, extra weight slide seals and problematic hydraulics on the early versions. If you can work on things like this and have plenty of time then it's no issue but if you take it to Newell or have it done somewhere else it's a lot of money. I found myself working continuously on our coach to get it where it is today for a year and a half both of us have slaved to get our coach where it is. So we went back to the original plan but I want a series 60 not that I have anything against the 8v92s because they're a great motors it's just now I'm liking the series 60 as ours is dry as a bone and has never gave us a lick a problem other than when the turbo went out January 2023. To get to the point we bought a 96 Prevost 40 ft non-slide coach with the series 60. Driving it it's like driving a sports car compared to a semi not that I'm bad-mouthing Newell but we've never experienced a 40-footer non-slide driving ability in comparison to a 45 with all the extra weight from the slides. No not leaving The forum and we have no plans on selling the Newell, Kathleen suggestion is to give it to our son.
