We are finally within a year of retirement and getting more serious on gathering expenses related to ownership. we will be in the $300,000 range for a prospective coach and have been looking around at potential insurance coverage. I am getting online quotes that range between $6800 to $7900 annual. One was a Progressive quote, the other through National. i know there has to be more reasonable coverage out there...please advise!
I was quoted 6k for 12 months! OUCH!
Think maybe I should just save up 500.00 per month and put it in some type of account and pray I have no major issues

I contacted Melissa Thum of the Thum insurance agency. They insure a good number of Prevosts with agreed value policies. In no time she had me set up with Progressive Agreed Value policy with same coverage for less than I spent this year. She was very easy to deal with and most accomodating.
If you wish to speak to her she is at 6 one 6 - nine 57 - 2400 or melissa at thuminsurance dot com

they used to be the lowest priced. they told me that longer rv's are more accident prone. ha
The two hours was sufficient, but begs the question of what coverage do I have if I need a "low boy" tow for a great distance.
A friend of mine has had good service with a Good Sam Road Protection Policy. I would appreciate advise on which company is the best and provides the most coverage. I expect to pay more than for my present poor policy.

Hi Folks,

Do you know anyplace on the web where you can go to find out the higher/lower states for coach insurance or vehicle insurance in general? And maybe even where you can drill down to counties and/or cities within the state?

I realize that will not give you an idea of the cost of a policy for a specific coach, but it would at least be a guide. We know that San Francisco, CA will be more than Billings, MT. I just thought it would be nice to have some ideas without having to go to an insurance company for a quote.

• Do insurance companies charge less for the periods when you're not on the road when your parked in a park?
• How much more do you pay (by %) for a full timer driving 8/10,000 per year. Versus being on the road for the same amount of miles over 6 months and the rest in a stick house?

Thanks guys,
