Lurked without logging in for a while and now I'm here.

Currently a Foretravel owner and have been looking for our next coach for a while. Always figured we'd end up with one more Foretravel and then move to a Prevost. Used Newell coaches keep popping up in front of me so - educate, debate, and decide if maybe a Newell fits into that mix?!

I have so many questions on the evolution of the Newell build, options, how & why some things exist, etc.

I have been following a lot of of you guys’s post and I am extremely happy that I found this website. I have some experience with the Diesel pusher as I solo traveled in a 2005 Alfa gold 39’ Diesel pusher for about 2 1/2 years it was nice, but this thing is like 1000 times better.

it’s in a little bit of rough shape as it has sat for about six years I believe the motor sounds beautiful, but pretty much nothing on it works lol maybe one of the ACs out of the three, but I think with you guys’s help in a little bit of money ((maybe a lot)) I can get her back on the road. She already has brand new tires.

I’m hoping to find someone who is mechanically inclined in the Texas area before I go long distance. I’d like to see what I can do by myself and then I would love to maybe go buy someone else that is like way more knowledgeable on all the systems to see if maybe they can help :-).

As you can see some of the pipes are busted :-(I’m guessing they forgot to winterize it when the father got sick Only thing I could get to work was one of the ACs two of them are still pretty warm, but I was using a 5000 W Ot Gen Generator because I couldn’t get the 17.5 on board Generator working, but I suspect it’s because the batteries are too low and it’s not enough fuel so I think once I put the new batteries in there and put some diesel in there, then I can start troubleshooting the generator.

What can we say but Tom and Darlene have been absolutely wonderful to work with and this is my first big coach. So I am a bit overwhelmed and trying to slowly get a grip on all the learning. The hopper is broken on it. I'm putting a water leak on the ventilator. Just had a compressor go out on one of my heat pumps. So now I'm thinking about upgrading it to a mini split. I attempted to temporarily patch my slide seals until I could replace them, without any success. Of course each time it was in a Walmart parking lot. I love my bus though. I had purchased my coach from one of our customers, Chris, if anybody knows him. Does anybody here have any history or information on my coach by chance? If so if you can reach out to me, that would be awesome. I'd love to hear anything that anybody knows or has seen my coach anywhere.

New to the group. I purchased coach #485 last weekend in Dallas Texas and drove her to her new home in Columbus Indiana. 900+ comfortable and uneventful miles.
We stopped for the night at Newell on along the route home and got a look at some of the newer coaches.
My dad owned a 1983 Newell 37’ many years ago but this is my first coach. The Newell Gurus site has already been invaluable.
The previous owner was meticulous and the coach needs nothing.
Planning to polish the aluminum wheels this weekend.
Here are some pictures of us parked at Newell on our first night of ownership and another tucked away inside her new home in Indiana.

We also belong to a military RV group that hosts rallies all over the US (Special Military Active Recreational Traveler, AKA SMART). Their national rally is in Elkhart Indiana in August. I hope to meet some of you on the road in 2026 and beyond!

Well I did get a newell after years of wanting one. Finnaly found one that was cared for all of its life. Have every oil change every part and everywere it went in its long life. it looks like the picture the factory sent me from when it was delevered.
Being a mr fix it. I went over every nook and cranny. I have had 2 other Class A but never found anything built like this. Has thing like Halon fire suppression system in genrator space. And more things that I have never seen. All great.

Another person asked what should you expect to spend (in addion to the purchase).
Here are some of the things i did:
Changed all oils axel differental engine (about $3000)
new tires $7000 8 of them (they just hit 5 years)
I was lucky the air bags were changed by the last owner
Had one engine code that was a small thing
Wiper blades and back up camera

I had to replace the air compresser for the house (i was lucky i found it on facrbook marketplace)

it was about what I expected to spend on a well maintained rig.

i am looking foward to sending 2 months this year going west.

Both the wipers stopped working on the way when we had some huge wind gust that lifted then about 4 inches off the windshield and stopped them from moving. If anyone has info on checking and or replacing the wiper motors, that would be helpfull.

A waterline under or behind the fridge started leaking. I will take the drawers out, the bottom panel off and see if I can find the leak.

One of the former owners took out the thomas air compressors and replaced it with one cheap Campbell Hausfield. He has the pressure regulater on the compressor at 40PSI and I am not it sure what that should be set at.
