I didn't know that about a monocoque build but I can certainly understand that a more ridged frame would do a better job of keeping out the squeaks and rattles!

Do the "Prevosts, Foretravels and Bluebirds and few other high ends builds" also have the aluminum outer skin like Newell?

Prevost Le Mirage XL series is stainless steel shell
Prevost H VIP series is fiber composite
Foretravels are fiberglass
Bluebird Wanderlodges WERE steel
Bluebird M series WERE aluminum

Harry it is a high strength skin bonded to an overall cage structure that makes the monocoque. On a raised rail chassis the walls are only attached at the floor line and where they join the other walls and roof.

Think of it this way. Build a one foot by one foot square out of 1 inch wood framing. Can you flex it? Sure you can, it's only attached at the corners. Now screw a thin piece of plywood or aluminum to the entire perimeter of the frame. Now you can't flex it if you tried

Man oh man I sure wish you guys taught my shop class in high school, I sure learn a lot from you. And my 8 years of high school were the best!

When we were talking about tires a few posts back I was remeinded of a post I read on another forum. A guy was talking about coming out of a restaurant and decided to check over his rig before driving off. He found that someone had put a bottle between his tandem tires which of course was a bad thing. What he didn't say was why it was a bad thing and what would happen because of it?

I have a couple guesses but would like to know for sure.

I read that post too. I wasn't sure if the guy was a troll or not. For the benefit of doubt let's say he wasn't.

The bottle would likely break. Whether it would cut the sidewalls or not is pure conjecture.

OK, I thought maybe it would fly out and hurt the coach or maybe a car or something behind the coach, not unlike part of the tire coming off. What is a troll in motorhome lingo, its not a cave dweller? Cool

Hmmm , I didn't know BB M series were aluminum..Were they similar to Newell or did they use a different wall frame system?

It is my understanding that the LXI and the M Series Blue Bird have a welded stainless steel cage and aluminum and stainless structural members in the roof.
