Interesting gmail trick - folivier - 12-16-2018

If you use gmail as your email address this is an interesting trick to help keep spammers from harvesting your email address.  What the article says is that gmail ignores any . in your address and also ignores anything after + if you add either to your address.  So if your address is [email protected] and you need to sign up somewhere you don't want to get emails from just add an extra . or two.  Then if the spammer doesn't use gmail servers that email address should not work for them.
