Mini split with ducted indoor unit
#1

MY SCS basement acs are in poor condition. I am thinking that I could replace them with  mini splits with the ducted style indoor units and connect them to the ducts in the AC bay. Am I crazy or is this a possibility? Any input is appreciated. I have one roof ac installed by the previous owner.

Thanks

there is an entire long thread on this on a coach that the owner just did with mini splits.

you will find it interesting reading. https://newellgurus.com/showthread.php?t...ini+splits

if you replace your existing units, save the control boards.

thanks

Are the 2 compressor SCS units 1 ton or 2 ton?
Thanks

We couldn't be happier with our mini splits we are living in it now although the weather is mild but it gets down to 30 at night time and it keeps us nice and toasty and is silent. It's a lot of work but well worth it considering the prices of mini splits versus basement air units.
