Newell House

Chester, If that trailer is like the ones around here (It looks like it) it tilts (dumps). There are rollers on the bed of the trailer and the trusses just roll off as the truck drives forward.

chester is right. i asked about damage to the trusses and he said that they are very flexible when laying flat. but the strength is up and down.

the framer said these will be the biggest truesses he has ever done.

time for some more ideas from y'all,

i am going to have the shop drywalled inside. the ceiling and the top 12' of the walls, leaving the bottom 8' of the sidewalls exposed studs and insulation. that is so i can take my time doing the finish electrical and plumbing.

the question is this.....what ideas do you all have for what i should do for the walls on the lower 8'?

things considered so far are.....drywall, white pegboard on the top 4' and white masonite on the bottom, T111 siding, corrugated metal, OSB.

the sidewall sits on a 6" riser so the sill doesnt touch the slab.

i am trying to get a cool look and be cost effective and durable.

suggestions? remembering the durable and cheap part?

I like 1/4" thick, large hole pegboard, stood on end, thus 8' tall.

I used osb on my shop walls, painted. Cheap and put screws anywhere easy.

I am considering FRP ...fiberglass reinforced plywood. Much like that used on the sidewalls of some box trucks. It is smooth fiberglass on each side with 3/8 or 1/2 inch plywood in the sandwich.

dean, frp is really thin. are you talking about frp that is bonded to plywood? it appears to be 70 bucks a sheet. i need 50 sheets. a little too pricey for me. looks like great stuff though.
