I make all my own cat5-6 cables there's the sequence for the color of the wires with the locking pin on the connector up as long as both ends have the same color combination with that locking pin up it's good to go.

As far as noise at night our guest bedroom has the central AC compressor on the wall behind the headboard. I don't hear very well but that was a distraction.
