For the past couple years I've had a small oil leak leaving oil on the driver side of the engine near the bell housing. After several clean and observe attempts showing nothing I resorted to flourescent dye. Whoa nellie, my Fumoto oil drain valve glowed bright. I had thought the oil on it had ds ended from above. Wrong. The oil above had ascended from below and gone sideways no less. That two stroke oil is tricky stuff. Oh wait, I'm using synthetic 4 stroke oil. Maybe that is why it got sideways.
Lesson learned: oil doesn't alway flow down hill, sometimes it gets suckered up.
May your engine stay clean and dry.
