take another look. i do not think it is a light on a stalk. it has a real knob on it and a metal pivoting control handle like assembly where the shaft connects.

Take a look at this picture. See the light mounted on the wall above the driver's left shoulder. Looks the same to me. Now I DO wonder what the round "pedal" or "button" on the floor under the driver's left foot is (of the 96 Newell). It has a cable coming off of it that comes up and goes into the side wall.

i have those lights in my coach. if you look closely, they are not like the stickshift like knob in the picture. i guess someone will have to go look at it to find out.....ha

The round button on the floor is likely a foot activated air horn control. I have a friend that had one of those on his Wanderlodge but they are not common on Newells.
