What is the blue light from our screens really doing to our eyes?

I changed mine to 'bright white', after reading this I wish I had gone with the 'warm white'.

Have not tried the f.lux yet, spend most of my time on the work computer and I hesitate to install anything on it that I'm not intimately familiar with.
